    Welcome to the homepage of Thomas Frick,

      german director, author and producer.

    Film-maker Fricki, as he is called by his colleagues and friFrickfilm - German Homepageends, made his first short movie in November 1983, a 15 minute film in super-eight-format, “Der Ausflug ins Gebirge” after Franz-Kafka.

    Other shorts followed, like “Das Massaker”, “Zeit der Feuer” and “Rotkäppchen” - despite having been observed by the East German secret police (the “Stasi”).

    With the help of courageously people like Heiner Carow and Claus Dobberke, both directors from the DEFA-filmstudios, Thomas Frick started to study at the “HFF - Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen - Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam Babelsberg in 1988.

    During that time he made several international award winning shortfilms and documentaries like “10 Tage im Okotober” (10 Days In October), “Varieté” (Variety show) and “Der unbekannte Deserteur” (The UnknoDetective Lovelorn Homepagewn Deserter, starring Ralph Möller) and graduated in 1996 with a diploma in directing for cinema and TV.

    The graduating film “Der unbekannte Deserteur” was the very first coproduction between the Babelsberg Filmschool HFF and the filmdepartment of the U.C.L.A. in Los Angeles. Famous director Roland Emmerich was Thomas Frick´s U.S. mentor.

    After some TV work, advertising and shortfilms Fricki made his first long feature film “Detection the set of ve Lovelorn und die Rache des Pharao” (Detective Lovelorn And The Revenge Of The Pharaoh) starring Horst Buchholz in his last main part in cinema.

    Thomas Frick teaches scriptwriting and directing.

    For many years now he had been involved in non-profit projects with children, students and disabled persons - projects for tolerance, fair trade, better understanding and against violence, like the “Augen auf!” - clips for cinema and TV, starring the german movie-stars Axel Prahl, Florian Lucas or Jörg Schüttauf and the award-widangerousanimal.denning social spot “Susie”.

    Fricks latest short film “Dangerous Animal” made its way around the world, collecting festival invitations and awards.

    His stage play debut “Kikerikiste”, written by famous author Paul Maar did not only move the hearts of children.

    New projects like a TV-movie, a radio play, a commercial series and a novel are in preparation.
